Q – Can I use Vital Baby® products in the microwave?
A – Yes. All our Vital Baby® feeding Accessories* are microwave safe so you can microwave sterilise your bottles, cups, spoons or bowls and warm your baby’s food with peace of mind. However, if you do decide to use a microwave to warm your baby’s food, make sure that you thoroughly mix the food well to avoid and localised “hot-spots” and ALWAYS test the temperature before feeding your baby.
Vital Baby® Teethers cannot be put in the microwave with the exception of our Triple Stage Teether.
*Except our Stainless Steel Baby Cutlery Set and the Un-believ-a-bowl suction pad due to their metal components.
Q - How do I use my Unbelievabowl / How do I get the bowl off the base of my Unbelievabowl?
A - To start with you have to remove the bowl from the base to take out the instructions (in-between the base and bowl) and be able to clean the bowl before use. To do this follow the insturctions on the sticker stuck to the bowl.

Place the bowl (with suction pad attached) on a table top or smooth surface (kitchen worktop or high chair for example). Then, whilst gripping the bowl with both hands, lean on the bowl to apply some pressure to it and at the same time twist anticlockwise. This will seperae the two components and release the care and instructions leaflet enclosed. Now you can use your Unbelievabowl for the first time.
Using the Unbelievabowl is simple - just follow these 4 steps below making sure the suction pad is on a smooth surface.

Q – Are the plastic materials used to manufacture Vital Baby® products safe?
A – Yes. All materials used in our products have been tested to be safe for use on baby products. Every item within our range has been independently tested in accordance with British and European laws. We are proud to say that we pass with flying colours!
Q - What is BPA?
A – In recent times there have been many media reports around BPA (Bisphenol-A) and the damage that this chemical could be doing to babies. BPA is a chemical that is found in baby feeding bottles that are made of Polycarbonate plastic material (a material that has been widely used in the industry for many years). Although no definitive studies have been carried out, it is thought that BPA can leach out of Polycarbonate plastic bottles into baby’s milk and cause problems such as diabetes, breast cancer and hyperactivity in the baby’s adult life.
Q – Are the Vital Baby® products BPA free?
A – Yes. Without exception, every one of our new Vital Baby® and Vital Baby® Nurture™ products have been designed to be manufactured with quality materials that do not contain BPA.
Q – Can I purchase spare lids for Vital Baby® Cups?
A – At the moment we do not currently have spare lids available. However, we are looking into this and Vital Baby® will respond to consumer demand accordingly.
Q – Can I purchase spare non-spill valves for Vital Baby® Cups?
A – Yes. You can purchase spare or replacement valves from us directly. Please CLICK HERE to take you to the correct area in our secure on-line shop.
Q – How do I clean my Vital Baby® products?
A – We recommend that you wash your bottle, bowl, cup, spoon or teether before using it for the first time and after each use. Firstly you should disassemble the product and all its components. You should then wash them in warm soapy water, rinse well in hot water and air dry. Vital Baby® feeding accessories are top rack dishwasher safe and can be sterilised by all approved sterilising methods (chemical, microwave* or electric steam sterilisation). Vital Baby® Teethers cannot be sterilised with exception of the Triple Satge Teether.
*Except our Stainless Steel Cutlery Set and the Un-believ-a-bowl suction pad due to their metal components.
Q – How do I clean my non-spill valve?
A – To clean the non-spill valve effectively, remove it from the cup as soon as possible after use by pulling gently on the “fin”. Once removed, carefully slide the clear silicone strap covering outlet hole to the side. You should then wash them in warm soapy water and, using a bottle brush, gently brush the valve ensuring that you do not break the silicone strap. Rinse well in hot water and air dry. Replace the silicone strap and your valve is now ready for use.

Q – Do Vital Baby® Nurture™ Breast-like Teats & Silicone Teats come in different flow rates?
A – Yes. Vital Baby® Nurture™ Breast-like Teats & Silicone Teats are available in Slow, Medium or Fast flow rates
. As a rough guide your baby will need slow flow when they are newborn and move onto medium flow when they are about 3 months old. They will then be ready for the fast flow rate at about 6 months. As all babies are different their requirements will not all be the same. Therefore these age indicators are a rough guide only.
Q – Are Vital Baby® Nurture™ Breast-like & Silicone Feeding Bottles available in different sizes?
A – Yes. Vital Baby® Nurture™ Breast-like Bottles are available in two sizes, 150ml/5oz and 240ml/8oz, and Vital Baby® Nurture™ AirFlow™ Silicone Feeding Bottles are available in both 150ml/5oz and 250ml/9oz sizes.

Q – Are all Vital Baby® Trainer Cups spill proof?
A – Yes. Every Vital Baby® trainer cup comes complete with a smooth flow non-spill valve that regulate
s that flow of liquid and avoids messy leaks and spills. The valve actually self adjusts with the age of your baby. The stronger baby such the faster the flow of liquid.
Having said this, one of the unique features of our cup range is that you can also use every cup as “free-flow” by simply removing the valve.
2 in 1 no-spill or free flow – THE CHOICE IS YOURS!
You can check out our range of BPA free no spill trainer cups here.
Q – The soft tips on my baby’s spoons have changed colour. Is this normal?
A – Some foods that you may choose to feed your baby contain very strong natural colours. Foods such as carrot and tomato are great examples. Occasionally, you may find that after feeding foods like this you may notice a discolouration or staining of the spoon tip. This discolouration is totally harmless and we are pleased to confirm that all materials used in our products have been independently tested and conform to relevant British and European safely standards and legal requirements.
Q – Why is my Unbelievabowl™ not sticking down?
A – The Unbelievabowl™ is the ultimate super strong suction bowl when used correctly. If your Unbelievabowl™ is not sticking down correctly the most likely cause is that the suction pad has attracted some dust, the surface you are trying to stick the bowl to is not totally clean or the surface is not smooth. To rectify this, ensure that the surface you are trying to stick the Unbelievabowl™ to is smooth (wood grain or a textured surface will effect the function of the suction pad) and simply wipe the surface and bottom of the suction pad with a clean damp cloth.
Q – Are there Unbelievabowl™ accessories available?
A – Yes. There are packs of 2 spare Unbelievabowls™ available separately although this does not include the Unbelievabowl™ Suction Pad.

A – Absolutely! Our Press ‘n’ Pop™ Freezer Pots have been design to be used to freeze either breast milk or first weaning puree’s and foods into convenient 1oz/30ml or 3oz/90ml portions which reduce food or breast milk wastage. Q - Is the Vital Baby Digital Bath & Room Thermometer water proof?
A - Yes. Our Digital Bath & Room Thermometer is waterproof and floats happily in the bath with the temperature being clearly displayed on the bear’s belly. When not being used in the water this thermometer can sit on baby’s bedside and display the room temperature. Download the instructions for more information and details of the optimum bath water and room temperatures.
Q - Why is it important to monitor the temperature of baby’s room?
A - Newborn babies are not able to regulate their own body temperature. It is therefore very important that the temperature of their surroundings are monitored to make sure that they are not too cold or too hot so that you can adapt their bedding, change their clothing or alter the temperature of their room accordingly.
Q - Why measure the temperature of baby’s bath?
A - Measuring baby’s bath water is important for baby’s safety and comfort. A newborn baby’s skin is very sensitive and delicate and can react much more quickly to temperature changes than toddler or adult skin.
It is therefore very important to test and monitor the temperature of baby’s bath water before and during bath time to make sure that the temperature is not too hot and does not fall too low. With our Digital Room & Bath Thermometer you can easily check if the water temperature is correct.
Q - What batteries do the Vital Baby thermometers take?
Digital Bath & Room Thermometer: 1 x CR2032 lithium battery
FlexiSafe™ Rapid Alert Thermometer: 1 x CR2032 lithium battery
FlexiSafe™ Fever Alarm Thermometer (from the Health & Safety Kit): 1 x 1.5VDC (LR41) Alkaline
Q - How do you use the Vital Baby® Nurture™ FlexiSafe™ Rapid Alert Thermometer?
A - Turn on the thermometer by pressing the power switch. You will hear a ‘beep’, the display screen and backlight will turn on and the words ‘Last Memory’ will be displayed along with the last recorded temperature reading.
After two seconds the display will show ‘Lo°C’ and the symbol ‘°C’ will begin to flash. PLEASE WAIT FOR THE ‘°C’ SYMBOL TO FLASH AT LEAST THREE TIMES BEFORE TAKING MEASUREMENT.
You are now ready to take your baby’s temperature (please refer to the ‘Where To Take Temperature Readings’ question for safe and accurate readings). After about 8-10 seconds you will hear and see one of two alarms:
a. ‘Normal Alarm’ – the sound ‘beep beep... beep beep... beep beep’ will be heard along with the backlight display glowing GREEN and the actual temperature reading being displayed. This indicates that the temperature detected is below 37.6°C.
b. ‘Fever Alarm’ – the sound ‘beep beep beep... beep beep beep... beep beep beep...’ will be heard along with the backlight display glowing RED and the actual temperature reading being displayed. This indicates that the temperature detected is above 37.6°C.
For best results and to maintain the accuracy of each measurement please allow at least 3 minutes between each measurement taken. To turn the thermometer off, press the power on switch or simply leave for a few minutes to ‘auto-off’. For more details download the instruction leaflet.
